These terms govern your use of Giftinz fintech-powered social gifting and fundraising platform. Please read them carefully.
Key Terms Overview
Understanding your rights and responsibilities on our fintech platform
Welcome to Giftinz, a fintech-powered social gifting and fundraising platform owned and operated by Giftinz Limited (UK) and its Nigerian subsidiary Giftinz Invent Limited.
These Terms of Service govern your access to and use of Giftinz' web and mobile applications, products, and services, including MyChurch by Giftinz (accessible at mychurch.giftinz.com), our church website, giving, and member-management product built on the same Giftinz infrastructure.
By accessing or using our Services, you agree to be bound by these Terms, our Privacy Policy, and any additional terms that may apply to specific features. If you do not agree, do not use Giftinz.
Giftinz – Giftinz Limited (UK) and Giftinz Invent Limited (Nigeria).
User – Any person or entity accessing or using our Services.
Beneficiary Account – A verified payout account where eligible disbursements are remitted.
Event – A celebration or campaign created on Giftinz for receiving gifts or donations.
Spraying – The act of sending animated digital money to an Event.
Campaign – A fundraising activity hosted by individuals, charities, or businesses on Giftinz.
Tipping – Sending funds to service providers (DJs, performers, etc.) via Giftinz.
Business Account – An account registered for companies, NGOs, religious organizations, or event vendors.
MyChurch – Giftinz' church website, giving, and member-management product, available at mychurch.giftinz.com and governed by these Terms.
Church Account – A Business Account created for a church on MyChurch, registered as a Charity with a church vertical rather than a generic Business Account.
Church Admin – A User granted a role by a Church Account (e.g. owner, pastor, finance admin) to manage that church's site, members, or giving on MyChurch.
Member Record – Information a Church Account holds about its congregation on MyChurch, such as contact details, attendance, and giving history.
To use Giftinz, you must:
- Be at least 18 years old (or the legal age of majority in your country)
- Have the legal capacity to enter into a binding agreement
- Pass our KYC (Know Your Customer) and AML (Anti-Money Laundering) verification processes
- Not be located in a restricted or sanctioned country
Giftinz reserves the right to decline or terminate accounts that do not meet eligibility requirements.
Registration Methods
You may register via:
- Social media accounts (Facebook, Google, Instagram, LinkedIn, etc.)
- Email and phone verification
- Business account onboarding (for organizations)
Your Responsibilities
- Providing accurate, current, and complete information
- Maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials
- Notifying us immediately of unauthorized access to your account
Funding a Transaction
Payments can be made via:
- Card payments
- Bank transfers
- Mobile money
- Supported payment gateways (Stripe, Flutterwave, Paystack, etc.)
Important Terms
- Giftinz does not hold funds on your behalf. Payments pass through and are disbursed directly to verified beneficiary accounts
- Payouts and eligible refunds are subject to provider and corridor settlement periods
- Verification requirements apply to payouts
- Multi-currency collections may be available, depending on your region and provider support
- We may impose limits on transactions for security and compliance
On MyChurch, tithes, offerings, and campaign giving are Collections under these Terms and follow the same Collections & Payout Services rules above, and funds pass through to the church's own verified Beneficiary Account, subject to the same verification and settlement requirements as any other Giftinz Collection.
You agree NOT to use Giftinz for:
- Money laundering, fraud, terrorism financing, or illegal activities
- Sale of prohibited items (weapons, drugs, counterfeit goods, etc.)
- Misrepresentation in campaigns or events
- Harassment, abuse, or offensive conduct toward other users
Violations may lead to account suspension, legal reporting, and forfeiture of funds.
Event Creation
Event creators must ensure accuracy in event details, dates, and recipient information.
Spraying Options
Sprayers can choose:
- Public sprays (amount visible to all)
- Private sprays (amount visible only to the recipient)
Important Notes
- Funds sprayed are final and non-refundable unless due to technical errors
- Giftinz is not responsible for disputes between event hosts and attendees regarding gift amounts or delivery
Charity Account Requirements
Charity and NGO accounts must provide:
- Proof of registration
- Authorization to fundraise
Campaign Creator Obligations
Campaign creators must:
- Clearly state purpose and fund allocation
- Provide updates to donors
Consequences of Misuse
Misuse of donated funds is prohibited and may result in:
- Legal action
- Refund demands
- Account termination
Giftinz may withhold or release funds only after verifying campaign legitimacy.
Business users may use Giftinz for:
- Employee gifting
- Promotional giveaways
- Customer loyalty rewards
- Corporate social responsibility campaigns
Additional verification and contracts may apply.
Churches using MyChurch are set up as a Church Account (a Charity registered with a church vertical), not a Business Account. The Charity Account Requirements in Section 8 above apply to churches accordingly, alongside any MyChurch specific onboarding steps.
- A platform fee applies per transaction. The exact fee is displayed clearly at checkout before you confirm any payment
- Premium animations, branded spray boards, and other add-ons may incur additional charges, and these are always shown before purchase
- Fees are deducted automatically from each transaction
- Current fee schedule is available at giftinz.com/help-center
All gifts, sprays, tips, and donations are non-refundable unless:
- There is a proven technical error
- Fraudulent activity is detected
Disputes must be reported to support@giftinz.com within 7 days of the transaction.
Security Measures
We use:
- AES-256 encryption for data security
- PCI-DSS compliant payment processing
- AI-powered fraud detection
- Two-factor authentication (2FA)
Regulatory Compliance
We comply with:
- GDPR (UK/EU users)
- NDPR (Nigerian users)
- Local financial service regulations
Giftinz is not liable for:
- Losses due to user error (wrong recipient, incorrect event details)
- Third-party service interruptions (payment gateways, delivery services)
- Unauthorized access due to user negligence
Our maximum liability is limited to the amount of fees paid by you in the last 6 months.
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Giftinz from any claims, damages, or losses resulting from your use of the Services.
We May Suspend or Terminate Your Account If:
- You violate these Terms
- You engage in fraudulent, illegal, or harmful activities
- Required by law or regulatory request
You may close your account anytime via the app settings.
Applicable Law
- UK Users – Governed by the laws of England and Wales
- Nigerian Users – Governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria
Dispute Resolution
Disputes will be resolved in the courts of:
- London, UK (for UK-based disputes)
- Lagos, Nigeria (for Nigerian-based disputes)
